Job Qualifications
- Education: High school education or equivalent preferred.
- Language: Basic to good command of English; additional languages are an advantage.
- Experience: Previous experience in a hotel uniform room, laundry, or similar role is preferred.
- Skills: Basic knowledge of uniform handling, garment care, alterations, inventory control, and record keeping is an advantage.
- Competencies: Good attention to detail, organization, cleanliness, teamwork, and reliability.
Key Areas of Responsibility
1. Uniform Operations
- Manage the daily issuance, collection, exchange, and storage of Chedian uniforms.
- Ensure all uniforms are clean, properly pressed, in good condition, and ready for distribution.
- Maintain accurate records of uniforms issued and returned by each Chedian.
- Ensure uniforms are correctly labelled, organized, and stored in designated areas.
- Inspect returned uniforms for stains, damage, missing items, or required alterations and take appropriate action.
- Coordinate uniform cleaning, pressing, repairs, and alterations with the Laundry and Tailor as required.
- Assist new Chedians with uniform issuance and ensure the correct sizes and items are provided.
- Follow up on uniform returns for departing Chedians in coordination with Human Resources and relevant departments.
- Maintain appropriate uniform stock levels and assist with regular inventories.
- Report shortages, damages, losses, or stock discrepancies to the Supervisor.
- Maintain the uniform room and storage areas in a clean, neat, and organized condition.
- Provide courteous and efficient service to all Chedians and respond promptly to uniform-related requests.
- Support Laundry and Housekeeping operations when required.
2. Cost & Inventory Control
- Ensure proper control and responsible use of uniforms and related supplies.
- Assist with periodic uniform inventories and maintain accurate records.
- Minimize uniform loss, damage, unnecessary replacement, and wastage.
- Report any recurring uniform issues or requirements to the Supervisor.
3. Policies, Hygiene & Safety
- Maintain high standards of personal grooming, hygiene, and professional conduct.
- Follow all hotel policies, departmental SOPs, uniform procedures, and grooming standards.
- Ensure uniforms and work areas are handled and maintained hygienically.
- Follow all health and safety, fire, security, and emergency procedures.
- Attend required departmental briefings, meetings, and training sessions.
- Report any hazards, equipment issues, or unsafe conditions immediately.
- Carry out any other reasonable duties assigned by the Laundry Supervisor, Laundry Manager, or Executive Housekeeper.
