Job Summary
The IT Specialist is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation, maintenance, and security of the hotel's IT infrastructure. This role provides technical support to all departments, maintains hardware and software systems, supports hotel operational applications, and ensures uninterrupted technology services for both employees and guests.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Support
- Provide first and second-level technical support to all hotel employees.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, printer, and network issues.
- Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and peripherals.
- Respond promptly to IT service requests and incidents.
Systems Administration
- Maintain Windows operating systems and user accounts.
- Install, update, and patch operating systems and applications.
- Monitor system performance and perform preventive maintenance.
- Maintain file servers, shared drives, and user permissions.
Network Management
- Monitor LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, and internet connectivity.
- Troubleshoot network connectivity issues.
- Maintain switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless access points.
- Ensure secure network access throughout the property.
Hotel Applications Support
Support and maintain hotel systems including:
- Property Management System (PMS)
- Point of Sale (POS)
- Time Attendance System
- Door Lock System
- IPTV and Guest Entertainment Systems
- Telephone/PBX System
- Finance and HR applications
- Email and collaboration platforms
Information Security
- Ensure compliance with cybersecurity policies.
- Manage antivirus, endpoint protection, and security updates.
- Monitor user access and password policies.
- Assist with backup, disaster recovery, and data protection procedures.
Hardware Maintenance
- Install and maintain:
- Desktop computers
- Laptops
- POS terminals
- Printers
- Scanners
- Tablets
- Biometric devices
- Network equipment
Guest Technology Support
- Assist guests with internet connectivity and technology-related issues.
- Ensure guest Wi-Fi operates efficiently.
- Support meeting room audiovisual equipment when required.
Documentation
- Maintain accurate IT asset inventory.
- Record service requests and resolutions.
- Update system documentation and standard operating procedures.
- Maintain software licensing records.
